:: Even if you love Christmas music, the sugar rush can make you ill. But it's not all holly jolly garbage. Here's a Christmas Day playlist that's guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit. All the songs were released this year, though a few are classics, newly reissued. One of the songs included on the list is "Little Drummer Girl" by Alicia. :: PETA has issued its own 'worst-dressed' list - based on fur, not style. Paris Hilton was named the year's worst-dressed celebrity by the animal rights group. Martha Steward headed last year's list, but has recently reversed course. In September, the domestic diva hosted a PETA-produced video on fur and said, "I used to wear real fur, but, like many others, I had a change of heart when I learned what actually happens to the animals". Alicia Keys and Victoria Beckham, both previously accused by PETA, have also since said they've given up fur.

:: Alicia Keys and Santana join the ranks of Sony BMG artists whose CDs may be hazardous to your computer's health. The record giant announced late Tuesday that 5.7 million CDs outfitted with SunnComm's MediaMax Version 5 copy protection software could create security vulnerabilities in computers. The 27 affected titles include Alicia Keys' "Unplugged", Santana's "All That I Am" and Britney Spears' "Hit Me (Remix)". It’s yet another reason to read the fine print before playing Sony BMG CDs on a PC. Last month, consumer complaints forced the label to recall more than 50 titles containing XCP copy protection software that made computers vulnerable to hackers. Read the full article here.

:: Kerry "Krucial" Brothers, Alicia Keys' longtime songwriting and production partner, is ready to break out on his own with a hip-hop debut, the EP Take Da Hood Back, set for February release. Although part of a duo responsible for nearly twenty million albums sold worldwide, the New York native needed to branch out. "I felt the only way I could have the power is to stay independent," says Krucial. Krucial met Keys in the late Nineties, both part of the fertile creative scene centered around the East Village's Nuyorican Poets Cafe, and the two began working together in 1996. Keys released her breakthrough debut, the multiple Grammy-winning Songs in A Minor, five years later. Krucial and the R&B star also co-own a production company together, the New York-based KrucialKeys. Two of Krucial's new tracks - "Take Da Hood Back" and "They Don't Understand," featuring his hip-hop protege Illz - can be streamed from the company's official site, krucialkeys.com. Their sound, says Krucial, comes as much from his knowledge of R&B as his love of hip-hop. Read more here.

:: Bono has teamed up with Alicia Keys to record a special version of Peter Gabriel's "Don't Give Up" for an exclusive iTunes release, with all proceeds going to a charity. The duet, available to download from 6 December, will support Keep A Child Alive (KCA), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing lifesaving AIDS medicines directly to children and families with HIV/AIDS of which Keys serves as Global Ambassador. The song, now renamed "Don’t Give Up (Africa)", was co-produced by Keys and veteran producer Steve Lillywhite. The duet was first performed at KCA’s annual fundraiser, the Black Ball on 3 November in New York City, which raised more than $1m to help save lives in Africa. Alicia Keys said: "Keep A Child Alive is my passion and my heartfelt mission. I believe AIDS is the most important issue we face, because how we treat the poor is a reflection of who we are as a people. I urge everyone to recognize the extreme disaster Africa is facing and step up for the Motherland". KCA said that in Africa there are currently 12 million AIDS orphans with less than 5% of the population who have access to life saving anti-retroviral (ARV) treatment. There are over three million children living with HIV/AIDS today, nearly all of them in poor countries in Africa. Each year over 700,000 more children are infected with HIV. Through its fundraising efforts, KCA has been able to fund AIDS clinics to provide ARV treatment and services. Keep a Child Alive also funds the Agape Orphanage and the Go Go Grannies in Alexandria Township, South Africa.

:: Kenneth Cole, in conjunction with KNOW HIV/AIDS, a joint public education initiative of Viacom Inc. and the Kaiser Family Foundation, today unveiled the "We All Have AIDS" campaign, which brings together key entertainment, political, social and scientific leaders in an effort to foster needed solidarity and to bring light to the devastating stigma associated with those living today with HIV/AIDS. The goal is to encourage millions to learn more, protect themselves, get tested and find treatment. The effort includes an arresting photograph with a compelling message about stigma that will be seen and heard by hundreds of millions via newspaper, magazines, radio and outdoor public service advertisements, along with a new dedicated website, a t-shirt initiative and public art installation. The campaign exemplifies a unified response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic, asserting that if anyone has AIDS, we all do, and if it exists anywhere it essentially exists everywhere. The tagline reads "We All Have AIDS ... If One Of Us Does." In the print and outdoor ads, the tagline is written across a photograph taken by renowned photographer Mark Seliger. Among those pictured are President Nelson Mandela, Sir Elton John, Alicia Keys, Will Smith, Sharon Stone and Dame Elizabeth Taylor, all of whom are shown stepping into cement, representing their commitment to the global fight against HIV/AIDS. You can read more here and below you can view that beautiful picture.

:: The entertainment business is often changing as artists are constantly thinking of ways to reinvent themselves. It's almost uncommon now to just make music. Artists are becoming more involved in acting, endorsements, clothing lines, restaurants and more recently writing their own books. Alicia Keys, Jill Scott, T-Boz, Madonna, Eminem and Tupac have all published books. These artists have all discovered new ways to express themselves. Alicia signed with Penguin Group to publish her first book, "Tears for Water," containing poems and lyrics. The book was published in November of 2004 and has already generated $500,000. Keys is expected to debut two other books, "The Songbook" and "The Diary of Alicia Keys". Read more.

:: It goes without saying in these celebrity-obsessed times that one need not be talented in order to be famous. Nor does it seem that one must even possess outstanding musical gifts or talents to enjoy a meteoric rise to the top of the pop charts. A conspiracy of corporate money, media monopolies and fashion fascism has created a system that can secure celebrity status for even the most marginally talented – provided, of course, they have the boobs, cheekbones or family connections to open the necessary doors. And then there’s Alicia Keys. A living, breathing tribute to the power of human genetics to create incredible creatures, R&B singer/songwriter Alicia Keys is phenomenal both on record and in person. Holding court before a small gathering of journalists in the boardroom of a swank Toronto hotel to promote her new album Unplugged, Keys revealed a personality as strong and as graceful as her chops behind the piano. :: SALT is shaking up the closets of women and men from Manhattan to Hollywood. Jessica Simpson, Katie Holmes, Claire Danes, Alicia Keys, Uma Thurman, Kelly Ripa and some of the cast of Desperate Housewives and The O.C. are among those to add some SALT to their wardrobes. Designed by New Yorkers for New Yorkers, the SALT denim line was launched last year, and the styles are named after streets in Manhattan. Danes recently requested St. Mark's, a low-rise straight-leg that has turned into the hottest style for the fall. She also wore Mulberry Street, a medium-rise boot cut, to NBC's Hurricane Katrina benefit in September. Keys sported an Orchard Street jacket and Mulberry Street pants to a Food Bank for New York City event in October. This summer, Simpson wore a pair of Avenue A jeans to her birthday party, and Holmes wore SALT jeans to a magazine interview. Read more.

:: Here is the news taken from atu2.com: "Late last month and early this month, we were hearing rumors and reports that Bono would do a duet with Alicia Keys at the Black Ball 2005 benefit in New York for Keys' Keep A Child Alive foundation. But there was no mention of it on the Keep A Child Alive web site before or after the event, and no mention that we could find in the news. Plus, the event was in New York while U2 were in Los Angeles, so it seemed like nothing more than an unfulfilled rumor. Then right about the same time, two things happened: 1) We received an email from Matt V. - who was apparently at the fund raiser - telling us that Bono appeared on a big video screen while Keys played piano and together they sang Peter Gabriel's "Don't Give Up," and 2) TIME magazine even mentioned it in passing, saying Bono "performed a transcontinental duet with Alicia Keys....". You can view photo from KACA event with Alicia and Bono, click here.

:: High outside the penthouse of a New York City recording studio, R&B and pop music star Alicia Keys is having fun during a photo shoot. The photographer is trying to coax her into leaning over a balcony railing to get a shot against the eye-popping lights of Times Square. "I'll stand on top of the balcony if you want," Keys tells him. And why not? Keys, who's won nine Grammys for her first two albums, grew up a literal stone's throw from here, in the tough, storied Hell's Kitchen neighborhood. But she owns the town now.
Born Alicia Augello Cook to an Italian American mother (a paralegal and part-time actress), and an African American father (a flight attendant), Keys, 24, changed her name to reflect her passion for piano, which she began playing at age seven. At 12, she entered Manhattan's Professional Performing Arts School, where she got her classical grounding and learned to compose music. By 16, she had finished high school, been accepted to Columbia University (later deciding to postpone college), and landed her first recording contract. Her debut album, Songs in A Minor, which yielded her first five Grammys, came out in 2001. She was 20. You can listen to full audio interview with Alicia on Reader's Digest website. Check it now!
:: Remember that short video at Krucial Keys official site? I got it, so you can download it and put into your vids collection ;) Visit videos of the moment section.

:: In a journal posting on her web site, Alicia Keys took time to answer a fan's question about realizing her true calling as a musician. "When it came to singing, playing, writing and performing, I knew it was for me since the day my nervous self stepped on stage when I was four-years-old in kindergarten and sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," says Keys. She adds, "As scared as I was, once I opened my mouth, I felt free. And ever since then I have felt a sense of freedom when I sing, play, write and perform".
:: I've added new pictures from Gucci Spring 2006 Fashion Show to Benefit Children's Action Network and Westside Children's Center. Thx to Ewe for these!

:: Even fighting with one's mom as a teenage girl can be turned into a positive - to hear Alicia Keys tell it: "When I was younger, my mother and I, we'd have these crazy, crazy fights. Everyone would storm out mad, and the only way that I'd be able to express myself was to write her. We would write letters back and forth for days. When I'm writing, I feel uninterrupted. I write what I'm going through and how I see it. And I feel like people can really understand." The multiple Grammy award-winner says that impassioned communication helped lead her to the songwriting skills that have made her a star. She gives her mother much credit for it all in the wide-ranging interview the artist has in the December issue of Reader's Digest, which hits stands next week. Keys also says that, growing up in New York's Hell's Kitchen, "I felt very determined very early, very adamant about what I wanted and what I didn't want. Maybe it was because of my surroundings. I knew immediately I'm not going to be that girl, standing out on the cold corner, trying to make money selling her body." An audio version of the interview will be available for hearing on rd.com.
:: New hq photos added: Alicia and Jack Nicholson watch the NBA game between New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers in LA on November 16. Thx to Krazee for first pic!

:: When old school hooks up with new school, watch out. That's exactly what has happened at The Oven Studios, a world-class facility created for Alicia Keys and Kerry "Krucial" Brothers, founders of KrucialKeys Enterprises. Designed by Keys, Krucial and a dedicated team, the facility successfully builds on a pre-existing high-level recording studio in the New York area and puts it into a 2005 context, perfect for a nine-time Grammy-winning songwriter growing increasingly skilled in her role as a producer. "I've always written, I've always played the piano, and when I heard these songs in my head, I would know what I wanted the feel and the sound to be" says Keys, who produced or co-produced 11 of the 15 tracks on the 2003 multi-Platinum The Diary of Alicia Keys. "Krucial was one of the first people to encourage me to take things into my own hands. That's why producing is so important to me. I'm able to hear my thoughts and voices, and I can present it as only I know it should exist". Read more.

: "It's been a minute since I've done an interview. I recently caught up with Kerry "Krucial" Brothers. Most of yall are probably like who the hell is that. Well he is the man who you may have seen in random candid shots with Alicia Keys floating around the internet. But more importantly, he is the man behind the sound, and I know all of y'all have heard The Diary of Alicia Keys. That's his work... Kerry more popularly known as Krucial was first known as a lyricist. He made a name for himself around the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and Lyricists Lounge before going on to blow up the music world behind the boards. So much of a lyricist, he plans on releasing his own EP after he puts the smack down on Rakim's new joint". Read the short interview with Krucial in here.

:: The incomparable and nine-time Grammy winner Alicia Keys debuts once again at #1 on the Billlboard 200 album chart with first week sales of Unplugged ringing in 195,681 units, according to Nielson SoundScan. Released October 11th on J Records, this charting makes Alicia the first female R&B artist to have three consecutive #1 debuts on the Billboard 200 album chart in as many releases and the first female artist to have an Unplugged debut at #1, beating past MTV Unplugged releases by Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, Alanis Morissette and Shakira. Alicia's Unplugged is also the second highest debut from the Unplugged series since Nirvana's 1994 release of MTV Unplugged. Additionally, Alicia Keys' Unplugged is #1 on the R&B Album chart. "Unplugged debuting at number one is yet another amazing milestone achievement for Alicia" says Clive Davis. "That makes it three in a row - three out of three. You just can't beat that! What makes it extra special is the live format of Unplugged for the true musician - the public really has to be passionate about the artist and the music to buy the album in these numbers." :: Two years ago 13-year-old Sydnee Bush faced the fight of her life. She was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma...a form of cancer. "It's not much you can do going through this by yourself." Sydnee's courage and will to live inspired an unexpected friend. "Sydnee bush from Savannah, Georgia. She's just 13 -years-old, and she inspired me in every way." - Alicia Keys.
R&B star Alicia Keys met her at her concert in Baltimore, Maryland. "Did you have any idea that you would be Alicia Key's inspiration?" " No never in a million years." Keys wanted the world to know Sydney. "Welcome Sydnee Bush". And on Oprah's show Monday the world met her.Sydnee met Alicia keys thanks to the "Make A Wish Foundation." She's now an honorary member of Alicia's fan club. Sydnee wants you to know one more thing about her. She has written more than 40 poems, and she even wrote this book entitled " The Small but Big Pain". It was a class assignment at Oglethorpe Academy in 2003. Read more.
:: Alicia Keys' revival of MTV's Unplugged, the critically acclaimed series of acoustic concerts, is a triumphant collection of beautiful songs that emanate personal warmth and the sheer joy of creating music. Revisiting her previous recordings with new arrangements, adding a few new songs, and presenting a few judiciously chosen covers, Miss Keys successfully keeps her prodigious talents in the public eye while we all eagerly await studio album #3. Read the full review at About.com to see how she fared.

October 17, 2005
:: As Alicia Keys' career has borne out, merely being a talented vocalist or musician isn't enough these days. Keys' albums are tricked-up with beats that don't always feel natural; on stage, she's saddled with choreographed, costume-heavy production numbers. (And yes, movies are next; she'll star in her first feature, "Smoking Aces," in 2006). "Unplugged," which marks the revival of MTV's show of the same name, is a predictable next step, meant to ram home the idea that Keys is a classy ''artist.'' But by focusing on Alicia Keys the musician (rather than Alicia Keys the empire), it's also the most cohesive of her three albums. You can read the full review by clicking on the scan. Thx to Denise!
:: Remember to vote for Miss Keys at Mtv Europe Music Awards, you can vote as many times you want, let's make her win this!

:: Glamorous stars like Naomi Campbell and Alicia Keys are well aware that the Big Apple offers a dizzying number of upmarket eateries. Local New Yorkers would have been forgiven for feeling a little surprised, therefore, when the two A-listers arrived for a gala event in Manhattan with their lunchboxes in their hands. They weren't the only ones who looked ready for a picnic, though, as Bono, Helena Christensen and Michael Stipe were likewise carrying colourful containers when they rolled up to the glitzy bash. But the event, which bore more resemblance to a school lunch break than a showbiz party, was all in the name of good fun and a good cause. A roll-call of big names designed their own unique lunchboxes which were then auctioned off to support the Food Bank Of New York. Proceeds from the fundraiser, which also featured designs by Bill Clinton, Charlize Theron, David Bowie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, are going to support hunger relief organisations. I've put more pictures from this event, you can view them all here and here.

October 15, 2005
:: In less than five years, Alicia Keys has accomplished more than seasoned performers twice her age, from releasing two multiplatinum albums and winning nine Grammy Awards to consistently selling out concerts.
Q: Why do you think doing an "Unplugged" session was a good fit for your music?
A: "Before I even got signed, I'd play these small clubs, or hotels even. When I did get signed and I was going around letting people know what I was about, that's exactly how I did it: me on the piano, playing a couple of songs I'd written and talking to the people in between. That's how I got my performance chops up. Now, when I perform in front of large audiences, I'm much more comfortable, because I've already performed in front of tiny audiences - which is much harder, honestly. The smaller you strip things down, the more you depend on the songs and yourself, as opposed to arrangements. To go back to this style is one of the reasons why I really wanted to do this "Unplugged." Obviously it was a little different than me and my little Kurzweil keyboard, but it was that feeling. I could look at every face in the audience." Read all questions and Alicia's answers on Yahoo.

:: Ryan Reynolds has tapped kegs in "Van Wilder," warded off vampires with his abs in "Blade 3" and even taken the time to share a hamburger with "Harold & Kumar." So where does the soon-to-be-30 sultan of sarcasm go from here? "The next thing I'm doing is 'Smokin' Aces.' It's Joe Carnahan's follow up to 'Narc,' and it's with myself, and Alicia Keys and Jeremy Piven and Andy Garcia," he acknowledged. "We're shooting it right now." In the comedy/action flick, Reynolds plays an FBI agent trying to keep a loud-mouthed comedian (Piven) alive after he receives the only contract no entertainer wants - one on his life. Keys, in her movie debut, is cast as an assassin out to get Piven's Buddy Israel. "She's going to be great. She wouldn't have been hired in the movie if she's not going to be fantastic," Reynolds said, realizing that he'll soon be surrounded by acting-singing women, including his fiancee, Alanis Morissette. "I don't think Alanis is going to tell Alicia anything that she doesn't already know and vice versa," the actor laughed when asked if he would pass along pointers between the two. "Performing is performing, whether you're doing it in a song or you're doing it on film. The two are quite synonymous. Alicia, every time she performs a song, she's emoting, and I don't think working on a film is any different."
:: Although Unbreakable, is proving to be another hit for Alicia Keys, the song spent about two years in her vault before she decided to record it. Unbreakable, which is on her just-released Unplugged album, was intended for 2003's The Diary of Alicia Keys. But Keys decided to leave it among the outtakes. "It's always been one of my favourite songs but it just didn't fit properly with the second album, so, I kind of put it on the shelf waiting for the perfect time," she told AP in a recent interview. That time came when she decided to resurrect MTV's Unplugged concert series; it was one of the new songs she premiered during the concert, which recently aired on the network; the companion album was released Tuesday. The up-tempo groove, which references real-life couples such as Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, got an enthusiastic response from the audience. Radio response has been strong, too - it's a top 20 hit on Billboard's R&B/hip-hop chart. "For me, as a musician, sometimes it's really a lot of fun to just debut a new song without any expectations," she said. "The response for it was so great, so it's a lot of fun to do that." Read the full article here.

:: Alicia Keys first appeared on "Good Morning America" in 2001. Nine Grammy awards and 17 million records later, Keys returned to "GMA" yesterday morning to perform songs from her latest album, "Alicia Keys Unplugged". Keys' album marks the return of the MTV accoustic "Unplugged" series. On "Alicia Keys Unplugged," the artist sings covers of Rolling Stones and Brenda Holloway songs and is joined by artists Common, Mos Def, Damian Marley and Adam Levine. "It is very much about expressing the true essence of music," Keys said. Keys is busy promoting the TIME Magazine Black Ball which benefits the Keep A Child Alive campaign, which raises funds and awareness to provide AIDS/HIV medicines to children in Africa. "I'm just bursting about it, I can't even contain it any longer, " Keys said of the Black Ball, which she is hosting. "It's really beautiful work." Read more. More photos added.

:: While preparing for her big-screen debut, R&B singer-songwriter Alicia Keys releases her first Unplugged CD/DVD this Tuesday. "I wanted to be able to bring it back to the essence of me as a performer," she says, "intimate and personal." Before committing to work on a new studio album, which she plans to do early next year, Keys is readying her film debut, rehearsing for Smokin' Aces. The film stars Jeremy Piven - as well as, according to Keys, Andy Garcia and Ray Liotta - and is written and directed by Joe Carnahan. Shooting for the movie, about a Las Vegas comedian (Piven) who turns mafia informer, begins November 4th. Keys plays the part of an assassin. Read more at Rolling Stone website.

October 11, 2005
:: Alicia Keys is not just a singer, songwriter or pop star. She is a musician first and foremost - a master of her craft, shifting and shaping melodies and rhythms on impulse and intuition. So her new live album, Unplugged, is pretty much a no-brainer. Keys’ mark on MTV's acclaimed Unplugged series - which has been blessed with performances by Mariah Carey, Jay-Z and Nirvana, to name a few - is a joyful, soulful and raucous affair. Keys runs through her hits, jazzing them up by adding extra horns, "Oohs" and "Yeahs" and extending songs for the audience to sing and clap along to. On "How Come You Don’t Call Me" Keys turns her back-up singers into a Greek chorus full of calls and responses; when she asks "Can I get an alright?" her chorus of back-up singers chime in with, "Well, alright!" It’s a classic live-show touch, but then again, Keys is a student of classic musicianship, so it’s a given. Read more.

October 10, 2005
:: Anyone who has ever watched Alicia Keys perform live, then listened to one of her albums, might have experienced a certain disconnect. It's not that her vocals have been so technically tweaked and tenderized that one can't recognize her at all (unlike some of Keys's so-called contemporaries). It's that her CDs - 2001's debut, ''Songs in A Minor," and 2003's ''The Diary of Alicia Keys" - never adequately capture the emotional texture of her exceptional voice. So ''Alicia Keys Unplugged," out tomorrow, easily stands as the first album to prove why the singer-songwriter-pianist is one of the great talents of her generation. Singing live is the entertainment industry's way of judging the quick and the dead. Hence, Keys opens this CD, recorded before an audience at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, with a spine-tingling a cappella hymn, ''Alicia's Prayer." So fragile and so powerful, it sets the adventurous mood for the rest of the album. Read the full cd review here.
:: Alicia Keys, T.I. and Young Jeezy, were among the special guests scheduled to perform at Usher’s Project Restart concert – a benefit for the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita at Philips Arena yesterday in Georgia, Atlanta. :: A staple of Alicia Keys' career has been to bring back worthy sounds and ideas from the past. Initially, that meant buffing up '70s soul. Now, it means dusting off MTV's late, semi-lamented series "Unplugged." Miss Keys' version of the low-volume concept may be nice to watch for free on TV. But is it worth laying out hard cash for the CD? you can read the full New York Daily review here. (btw. It's worth it!)
:: I've added beautiful scans from People Magazine, thanks to Denise for scanning them!

:: I was watching Alicia Keys Uncovered on Mtv Base a few minutes ago, but since I don't have a tv card I've taken some pics by my camera. Alicia was promoting new album, talked about her collabo with Common, Mos Def, Damien Marley and Adam Lavine, there was also a question about her mother, Alicia always says her mom is her rock. Like you see she wears the same outfit as on the 'Unplugged' promo pics, which means this interview was recorded recently.

:: Classically-trained pianist, singer and songwriter Alicia Keys is set to star in her first movie- about a musician whose life echoes her own. Helen Brown joins her for a 'bed chat' to talk about her life, her music. "The red carpet was white. The stars walking down it were mainly black. Putting on the bling for this year's Music Video Awards in Miami, rappers moved in macho posses; R&B-ers strolled loose-limbed and sharp-suited; divas flung back final photo opportunities over their shoulders. I didn't notice Alicia Keys, smiling as naturally as possible amid the theatrics, until she was standing a metre to my left, answering the over-excited questions of a Colombian TV presenter. The hurricane that had stripped the South Beach palm trees of their plumage just two days previously hadn't swept the humidity from the Floridian evening. "Phew!" said Keys as she hooched up her strapless, matt-gold gown and blew some cool air upward towards her cornrows. Then she resumed the more stately demeanour for which she's best known, to glide into the MTV event and collect the Best R&B Video Award for the second year running". Read the whole article here. There are also two beautiful photos of Alicia, you can view them by clicking on thumbs below.

:: Here is a full 'Unplugged' album review from Billboard (by Gail Mitchell): The phrase "truly entertaining" does not apply to many artists nowadays, but Alicia Keys is one exception. This self-assured, illuminating "MTV Unplugged" performance underscores Keys' boundless passion for her craft. Radio hits like "Karma," "If I Ain't Got You" and "Fallin' " sound new again, pumped up by Keys' creative arrangements and cunning piano stylings. Then there is her knack for dusting off the right oldies and making them her own. Brenda Holloway's Motown chestnut "Every Little Bit Hurts" gives way to a nicely updated version of the Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses" with Maroon5's Adam Levine. After something borrowed, there is something new: witty single "Unbreakable" (which samples the Eddie Kendricks-covered "Intimate Friends") and the intriguing "Stolen Moments," co-written with R&B icon Al Green. It is hard to believe Keys is only two albums into a career that strikes the perfect balance between old-school soul and contemporary R&B.
:: I've added new photo and site of the moment, which is great site Just Whitney.

:: Alicia will appear in public service announcements on subjects including women's heath and education for the WE channel's "Minute of Empowerment" on-air campaign.
:: Alicia Keys refuses to date another singer - even though she believes they make "very good" boyfriends. The Fallin' singer, who recently battled rumours of a fling with her 'Mo Boo' collaborator Usher, admits that she likes the idea of a rendezvous with a fellow performer - but she rules out dating one because she believes they are widely promiscuous. She says: "I think singers have the real passion. I would never, ever, ever date another performer."

:: Who was your (Alicia's) first crush? "This guy named Chris. He was a bad boy, so he was always getting into trouble. He was really cute and a big flirt, and I wasn't supposed to like him because he was older than me". Who was your first real kiss? "My first kiss was Chris' younger brother! I had to settle. I think his name was Billy. I was about 13 when I kissed thim. I think we only got as far as first (base). I don't think I went to second with Billy". Wanna read more Alicia's secrets? :: I was browsing Keep A Child Alive site and I think that Alicia won't be able to appear on Mtv Ema ceremony in Lisbon, because on the same day, November 3rd , she will be hosting The Black Ball 2005 in New York City. If you want to be there you can buy ticket for $500 or $1500. For more information visit this site. And btw I've found this beautiful picture of Miss Keys with the children of Agape, click here to view it.
:: On the official Much Music site they have a blog spot called Crew Spew, where you can read short review of Alicia's visit in their studio few days ago. Here it is: "I'm so 'appeh cause I love me some Alicia Keys and I just got to take some pics of her. See, we might work at MuchMusic but sometimes we still act like geeky fans. Probably me more than everyone else. But there was no lunging or whimpering involved on my part so I think I'm ok. Not many celebs who visit MOD will go to the window to see the fans outside during the break. They have their scheduled window shot during the interview and that's that. But Ms. Keys went outside and signed as many autographs as she could, even missing her cue to come back inside for her interview with Matte. Then afterwards, she stuck around to sign a bunch of audience autographs. In this pic, she just saw a painting of herself and was like, "daaaaammmn." Not in the bad way, but in the good way. Go on wit' cho bad self." Well... We all know Alicia is our friend, right? She rocks! :D I've uploaded part two of that interview, which can be downloaded here. Enjoy!

:: When Alicia Keys wants tips on mixing music and politics, she knows where to turn. "I had a great conversation with Bono the other day and I said :"Tell me, just tell me how you do it. How?' He's just so successful in the way he's able to make things happen." That she's even able to get some phone time with the crusading U2 frontman is a testament to her humanitarian work. Her foundation, Keep A Child Alive, has been opening medical clinics in AIDS-ravaged Africa for several years now. She's also spoken to Congress about stepping-up America's contribution to debt-relief efforts for Africa. Keys, who stopped in Toronto this week to talk up her new CD, said she's pleased to see more musicians making blunt political statements in public, lauding recent comments made by Kanye West. The rapper incited controversy at a Hurricane Katrina relief concert when he told the audience: " George Bush doesn't care about black people." "We all applaud it," she said of West's impromptu remarks. "It's the perfect time to say things like that, to speak the truth, now more than ever before. "For me it's always been pretty apparent... as to their priorities of certain people. But now, with everything that happened with the hurricane and how things were handled... it was just a blatant slap in the face. Keys will be making a trip to Kenya and Rwanda in late December to visit with some of the medical clinics set up by her foundation. Read the whole article here.
:: Alicia Keys is being urged to stop promoting gold sourced from Africa, because of the industry's questionable human rights record in the continent. The R&B star is an active campaigner for human rights and appeared at the Live 8 concert in Philadelphia in July. But she appeared in advertisements for the World Gold Council this summer - an organisation campaigners claim exploits poor communities in areas rich with gold. Keith Slack, senior policy advisor at Oxfam America, says, "Alicia Keys' fans are well aware of her commitment to bettering the lives of Africa's poorest people. But, gold, as it is currently produced, comes at the expense of poor communities who risk being displaced or losing their only source of clean drinking water because of dirty mining practices." A spokesperson for the No Dirty Gold campaign - which has sent a 2,500-signature petition to the singer - adds, "Keys has publicly stated she shies away from diamonds that are linked to conflict in Africa, and we applaud this. Here's a chance for her to take a stand on dirty gold mining."

The unforgettable acoustic show features a full set of Alicia's tracks, including several new songs, and she is joined on stage by the likes of Mos Def, Common and Adam Levine. 'Alicia Keys Unplugged' will be released on CD and DVD in October. Filmed July 14 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, 'Alicia Keys Unplugged' showcases the work and talent of one very special lady. :: Alicia Keys performed for a live, exclusive audience on CTV's Canada AM on Thursday and the response was electric. Looking relaxed and resplendent in a brown casual ensemble, Keys gave her fans a sneak peak at what she will be performing on her upcoming special "Alicia Keys: Unplugged." The show will air on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. ET exclusively on CTV. Filmed in July at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Alicia Keys: Unplugged is a part of MTV's popular Unplugged performance series. Key's began her hour-long Canada AM performance with a spirited rendition of her signature opener "Harlem's Nocturne." The largely instrumental song allowed Keys to showcase her classical background while adding a funky R&B/hip-hop twist. The standing-room only audience, comprised of both devoted and new fans, embraced her with che
