Cinema Society Hosts ‘Inevitable Defeat’ Screening in New York

On Wednesday, Oct. 2, The Cinema Society and fashion label Tommy Hilfiger hosted a special screening of “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete” which hits theaters on October 11. From the film: Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Julito McCullum, director George Tillman Jr. and producers Rachel Cohen and Jana Edelbaum were all in attendance. Also on hand were Swizz Beatz, Nicole Miller, Maxwell, Sean Parker, Clive Davis, Natasha Bedingfield, Mare Winningham, Ann Dexter-Jones and Steve Busceni. Of course the evening’s host Tommy Hilfiger walked the red carpet as well at the Tribeca Grand Hotel.

Alicia wore Celine top and Cesare Paciotti shoes at the screening. Jennifer wore an Aimly Rich top, Viktor and Rolf skirt, and Saint Laurent boots at the screening. Both ladies looked edgy and chic in black.

It’s about “the experience of these two boys trying to survive the summer in Brooklyn. It’s something that no matter where you’re from or where you grew up, you can relate to, you can relate to the struggle and the hope,” Alicia Keys told on the red carpet. “At first I was already drawn to it because there is no one on this planet, that’s not going to be drawn to it… now as a mother even more, I remember the last time that I saw it at Sundance I was kind of more angry, but also hopeful for them, but angry they had to go through that”.
