Alicia Keys arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Sunday night.
Before coming to the Philippines, she had shows in Macau, where she reportedly watched the Pacquiao-Rios match and is said to have rooted for the Pacman.
She performed at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Monday. Visiting the country for the second time, Keys told entertainment columnist Ricky Lo in a phone interview last week that she has been looking forward to performing before her Filipino fans again.
“They had so much energy during the concert. They were so excited despite what had just happened. I was glad that we could inspire each other, that’s why I’m looking forward to going back there” she said, recalling her experience the first time she came over.
“Music has a way of lifting your spirit and that’s what I hope to do for the Filipino people” she said. Earlier this month, Keys tweeted her support and prayers for typhoon-hit Philippines and urged her followers to donate and help the country.
